February 2025 Dems Meeting Recap
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our 48th Ward Dems meeting in February! It is wonderful to be in community with all of you.
Pizza Lobo was a great host, the pizza was terrific, and we also heard this message from attendees: "It's too loud in here for a meeting." Therefore, we’re moving next month’s meeting to Furama on Broadway.
At February’s meeting, we discussed a few current initiatives in the 48th ward, including the adoption of the Broadway Land Use Framework, Granville Traffic Safety, and the Green Social Housing initiative introduced last week at City Hall.
We also heard from our Steering Committee on the organization of our Dems group, including voting on an Executive Committee, creating subcommittees dedicated to specific initiatives, and finalizing our by-laws. If you are interested in building out this group, now is a great time to jump in.
During these difficult times, it's easy to slip into a feeling of helplessness, but we will not. There are plenty of things we can do to fight back. See the rest of this email for ways to get involved and plan to attend our next meeting on March 20!
